Position Description:
Almost Home Adoptions for rescued cats is looking for volunteers with veterinary degrees or veterinary technicians to assist in care for our homeless cats and kittens.
Some ways that vets can help make a difference:
- Wellness exams once a week and checking sutures/general health of cats and kittens returning from spay/neuter.
- One hour weekly consults regarding current issues or updates at the facility.
- Administering and interpreting fecal exams.
- Diagnosis-specific treatment.
- Emergency consult as needed.
- Foster care of young, sick, injured cats and kittens.
Some ways that veterinary technicians can make a difference:
- Assist with foster care wellness checks, vaccinations, de-worming, etc.
- Assist with intakes/blood draws for incoming cats.
- Check incisions after spay/neuter care.
- Assist with administering/reading fecal exams.
- Foster care of sick, injured, young kittens.
