About CACVT

The Colorado Association of Certified Veterinary Technicians, Inc. is a not-for-profit [501(c)(6)] representing a group of more than 1,850 professionals. Our membership includes people from all aspects of veterinary medicine, from private practice and specialty clinics to not-for-profits and private entrepreneurs.

We cover a wide geographical area and recognize the uniqueness of each aspect from the Eastern plains to the Western Slope, city to rural. You can see the distribution of members in Colorado and in North America. (maps updated April 2010 - note, not all addresses show up on the mapping program)

While Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) make up the majority of our membership, we also encourage membership and participation by students, assistants, receptionists, other healthcare team members, veterinarians, other technician associations, and allied associations.

We also recognize advanced certifications. One group is the Veterinary Technician Specialties (VTS). See our related links area for the recognized groups or visit the NAVTA Web site for details about existing groups or becoming recognized. Another group is the Certified Veterinary Practice Managers (CVPM) which is through the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA).

We encourage personal involvement in the association so that together we can make a direct impact on our profession in a positive and proactive way.

CACVT embraces all aspects of this field and appreciates the uniqueness that each person brings to both the profession and the association.
